PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS AND ORIGINAL PRINTS
Welcome to Gwen Hughes Modern British Art. Based in London, we have been buying and selling art since 1997, working with private and corporate collectors, designers, decorators and other dealers, and directly with artists and their estates. We hope that the selection of works featured on this website will give some idea of our large, varied and changing stock. New acquisitions are regularly added to the site, and we mount several online exhibitions each year on particular themes.
We shall be showing at The London Original Print Fair at the Royal Academy, London from April 23rd to April 27th. Items which will be shown at the fair can be seen on the Online Exhibition page. If you would like complimentary tickets to the fair, please send an e-mail giving your postal address.
We specialise in the work of artists born or active in Britain, mostly during the second half of the 20th century, though works available range in date from the early 1900s to the present. Our stock includes important paintings, drawings and sculpture by some of the leading figures in modern British art, but also many affordable artists' prints and works by less familiar names.
We are happy to advise on the building, curation and disposal of private and corporate collections, and we are always looking to buy works of the kind represented on our website. You are welcome to view our stock by appointment with us in southwest London. If this is not convenient, we are happy to arrange viewings elsewhere. We show at one or two major art fairs each year.
